Course Description: 

For Pagans, and many others, all space is sacred as the Divine is present everywhere. The whole earth is a temple. The whole universe is sacred. This, however, can be too much for the human mind to comprehend except in certain mystical states, therefor, we "set aside" particular areas for worship and ritual.

This course covers everything you need to know in order to set up and maintain your own sacred space - a place for rituals, magick, meditation, contemplation or simply to take a  brief pause from everyday life. As a generic course, suitable for followers of any magical or Pagan path, it does not go into methods for conducting rituals - these things are covered in path specific courses. 

By the end of this course, students will:

• Understand some of the reasons for having a sacred spaces and their uses.

• Know how to plan and create their own sacred space, designed to suit their own needs & preferences.

• Be able to construct their own sacred space and altar.

• Know how to look after their sacred space and make the most out of its use.

Assessment & Certificate:

This course has been graded as having a 'light' coursework load. Which equates to 0 - 1 hours of additional, independent work. Students will be required to submit coursework in the form of: surveys and a short written assignment.

There are no deadlines for turning in coursework and students are free to work through each module at their own time and pace. A certificate of completion can be accessed in the final module, which can then be downloaded and printed. 

This course will count as half an optional credit for those on the Path of Air taking either the ‘Magick', 'Divination', or 'Healing' streams. See 'Advancement Paths' page for more details about our structured advancement scheme.
