Course details:

A sigil is a type of symbol used in magick. The term has been usually employed to refer to a type of pictorial signature for a deity, angel, daemon or spirit. In modern usage, especially in the context of chaos magick, sigil refers to a symbolic representation of the practitioner's desired outcome.

Over the course of 4 lessons we shall learn how to design and construct your own sigils along with techniques for empowering and releasing them to do their work.

Textbooks and other materials (other than simple pen and paper, or other materials of your choice for crafting a sigil), are not a requirement of this course. Links to additional resources and recommended book titles have been provided but are not essential for completion. 

 

Assessment & Certificate: 

This course has been graded as having a 'light' coursework load. Which equates to 0 - 1 hours of independent work in addition to viewing the lesson materials. Students will be required to submit coursework in the form of: surveys, a quiz, a short written creative exercise and a practical task.

Subsequent modules will remain locked until the current coursework task(s) have been submitted. There are no time limits and students are free to work through the modules at their own pace. 

Students are able to access a certificate of completion once all the modules are completed and assignment work submitted. 

This course will count as 0.5 worth of optional credits for those on the Path of Air taking the ‘Magick’ stream. See 'Advancement Paths' page for more details about our structured advancement scheme.
