Course Details:
The Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of 8 seasonal festivals, observed by many modern Pagans, consisting of the year's chief solar events and the midpoints between them. This course explore the origins and development of the Wheel and the history, traditions, names, dates and ritual themes related to each festival. This course acts as a great base for starting a deeper exploration of each spoke of the Wheel.
By the end of this course, students will:
Understand the origins of the Wheel and how it continues to develop over time and why people choose to celebrate the festivals under different names and on different dates.
Know about the history, meaning and traditions associated with each festival and how the Wheel, as a whole, offers a system of understanding the nature of life and natural occurrences.
Be able to apply what they have learnt to their own practices.

Assessment & Certificate:
This course has been graded as having a 'light' coursework load. Which equates to 0 - 1 hours of additional, independent work. Students will be required to submit coursework in the form of: course evaluation surveys.
Students are free to work through each module at their own time and pace. A certificate of completion can be accessed in the final module, which can then be downloaded and printed.
